“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”
When I read these translations of Romans 12:1-2 I was so amazed at how down to earth and practical these verses are.
Because of His goodness and mercy towards us, the best thing we can do is
to accept and embrace His goodness without nitpicking or analyzing whether we are worthy or not.
” Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.” just receive it with a thankful heart
And I found the secret of not being formed by the way of this world. How?
It’s to fix your attention to God! then what will it do? it will changed us inside out
How wonderful it is, to know that the change in us we’ve been longing to see doesn’t have to come by force or unnaturally.
Yes we would need to live according to His Spirit guidance within us and not just following our fleshly desires, but then if we fix our attention to God, His Spirit will work within us, to change us inside out! I-N-S-I-D-E O-U-T!
so we don’t have to do the work by ourselves, no! The power and even willlingness to bring about the change we want to see is FROM HIM
When we fix our attention to God, we need to be
“Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”
when we know what God wants from us, we need to quickly respond to His will, instead of procrastinating and delaying our obedience.
When we do that, God promise to bring out the best in us. The world wants to drag us down to the pit of destruction, but our Heavenly, loving, merciful Father wants us to become the person He plans us to be. He wants us to be included and enjoy the Perfect will of the Father.
Now, would you trust Him enough to lay down your life to do His will instead of yours?
If the answer is yes, then congratulation for being a person with a well-formed maturity and to be the best version of yourself according to His will
