Your cross = BRIDGE to GLORY

One day, a man said to his two servants, “I have stored all wealth, uncountable gems, gold up there in the peak of the mountain, but you must climb up this mountain first so you can reach the peak. But you must carry this cross to the peak, I have given you the same sized, same weighted cross. It won’t be easy, it will be tough, but if you make it, then you will receive those rewards.”

Both of the servants agreed to take the cross with them to climb up the mountain. the first one said “this cross is very heavy, I need to rest a bit, eat, and then I will regain my strength to continue with my journey”, the secon one said to himself “why must I carry this heavy thing. Ah I know, I’m gonna cut this cross down a bit. besides, no one will notice, and our master told nothing about we’re not able to cut down this load a bit.” then the first one take a rest, and the second one cut it down, and they continue the journey.
the journey was getting harder and harder, the climb gets more steep, the road gets more rocky, the the second time the first one said to himself, “this is getting too hard for me, I need to rest down to regain my power to continue”, meanwhile the second one said “I don’t think the first cut is enough to lighten my load, I’m going to cut a little bit more”… then they continue walking
The wind was so strong and hot, the sun is sitting on top of their head, they got thirsty, tired, and think this was too much to bear, they just want to stop, but somehow the second one looked more cheerful than the first, he was not as tired as the first one. the first one said to himself “This is too hard, I’m so tired, I need to stop here for a while, yet I don’t know why my friend looked as he is not as tired as I am.” and so he asked the second “why do you look stronger than I am? we’re both on the same journey, facing same obstacles, carrying same load, but somehow you just not as exhausted as I am?” The second said to himself “That’s because I’m smart and you’re dumb, you never think of cutting off the cross. I know, I’m going to cut it even more, so things will get easier for me to finish this journey”, but he said to the first “no, i’m just as tired as you”. then they continues until at last they reach the peak of the mountain.
to their surprise, there was no gold, jewels, not such things at all, only a very steep cliff between them and the opposite side of the mountain. But wait, they see something. On top of the opposite mountain, they saw their master, with all the moeny, gold, gems, wealth, anything they could ask for…..
But, how can they cross the cliff to go to the other part of the mountain whew their master waited for them?
The first one said, “ah I know, I’m gonna use this cross as a bridge to cross this cliff so I can get where my master is”, and so he did. the master said to the second one, “come my servant, use your cross just as your friend use it to cross from there to here, I have all you can ever need and ask for here!” Yet when the second one  tried to lay the cross down, turned out that it was too short to cross. The end cannot reach the other part of the mountain…
When we are faced with troubles, burdens, don’t ask God to make your burden easier, to cut down your cross. Instead ask Him to give you more strength, more wisdom, more patience, to help you finish your journey. When He gives you “cross”, He meant it for your glory, He wants us to pass our test and give us the glory and rewards He already stored. Yet, when we keep trying to cut down our cross, we can ended up being not able to cross and enjoy all the good things He already prepared. Remember, every time we’re tempted to pray “God take this load off of me, this is too much for me, I can’t bear it, make it easier please”, change it to “God I know this is not easy, but this cross I must bear is the bridge to all the glory You have prepared, so help me God, give me more strength to endure it, and to finish it with joy, to please You all the way. I can’t do it on my own, but I know You are with me, helping me all the way.”
Finish strong
God bless

Too Blessed to stressed

Have you ever think life’s not fair?
No no, I mean not like you’re having terrible accident and lost one of your beloved ones, or lost one of your eyes etc.

I’m just talking in the sight of when you actually already have all you need to live on, such as house, clothes, foods, etc, but looking to someone else who has the same thing as yours but they have the more high end side of what you have.
what does it feels like? do you ever, even in the slightest amount felt jealous? wishing you will also can buy what they buy easily, without having to save for months?

I did, and sometimes I also feel it today too, but it doesn’t mean I have to keep those kind of thinking kept hanging in my head. NO!

Jesus said that He takes care of us, so we don’t have to worry about what to eat or wear. is that even possible?
Yes it is! that doesn’t mean we don’t need to work, just sitting idly at home, do nothing and waiting for God to feed us. No it’s not like that

We still need to develop our resources with all our might. Just as Paul said to young Timothy, to throw himself to the work and gift that has been given to him, so he won’t be ashamed to stand before the Lord when He come. Yet when people of this world do it with an anxious heart, with a lustful heart, with “love for money”, we God’s own children need to do it without worry, with a glad heart, joyful heart, knowing all our works won’t be in vain ( 1 Cor 15:58)

For it is the blessings of the Lord that makes people rich, and He adds no sorrow with it – Proverbs 10:22
no sorrow for me means no regret as if someone who work day and night without stopping and come to neglect his health, his family, his relationship with God and all his beloved ones.

I truly believe that we are given the power from above to life a balanced life, to keep working as for the Lord, do our job in our own fields, without compensating for the most important things which is our relationship with God and others.

1 Timothy 6:6-10 The Message (MSG)
6-8 A devout life does bring wealth, but it’s the rich simplicity of being yourself before God. Since we entered the world penniless and will leave it penniless, if we have bread on the table and shoes on our feet, that’s enough.
9-10 But if it’s only money these leaders are after, they’ll self-destruct in no time. Lust for money brings trouble and nothing but trouble. Going down that path, some lose their footing in the faith completely and live to regret it bitterly ever after.

we must remember when we look up and see people that we think are more blessed than us, we also need to keep balanced to look down. see around! do you see anyone who is hurting? do you see anyone who doesn’t know what to eat tonight? simply because they don’t have it? do you care enough to reach out to them and fulfill their stomach even just one time?
or would you keep standing still? stay indifferent to their needs? and keep sulking in self pity “why can’t I buy that dress, when she could afford it just easy?”, “why must I use loans for motorcycle, when he can buy those racing cars?”

Matthew 25:40
New International Version (NIV)

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Then, what we’re going to do?
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matt 6:33

God is faithful to His Words, even when we are not (2 Tim 2:13), so we can rest assured that He will fulfill our needs, even to abundance

2 Corinthians 9:6-15 New International Version (NIV)
Generosity Encouraged

6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:
“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;
their righteousness endures forever.”[a]
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

Keep working as for the Lord, keep being joyful in all you do, keep sharing what God entrusted you with, and keep enjoying what He has in store for you!

Would love to hear your comments ^^
Have a blessed day

A Person of Purpose

We need to have purpose in everything that we do, if not we will left feel empty and pointless. Most of the time, we want instant gratification of our desires, why wouldn’t we? we like that feeling of satisfaction, of having our “current needs” fulfilled. Yet is that the way it should be? The power behind the word ALL

This small word “ALL” can be easy enough to be forgotten, yet hold such a wondrous strength within itself in meaning. The word “ALL” changes everything when you put it in its proper place in a sentence.

Romans 11:36

36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. [For all things originate with Him and come from Him; all things live through Him, and all things center in and tend to consummate and to end in Him.] To Him be glory forever! Amen (so be it).

Eph 4:6 (NIV)

one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

1 Pet 5:7 (AMP)

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you.

1 Cor 10:31 (NIV)

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Do you see it (All)? Don’t us tend to overlook this powerful word?

He knows ALL things, He has ALL powers, He is the Creator of ALL, He is the Ruler of ALL, He is King over ALL, He is OVER ALL, THROUGH ALL and IN ALL!

He knows ALL your weakness, He understands ALL your fear, anxieties, whatever you can mention, He holds ALL answer to your questions, prayers, anything. He loves you with ALL the love you long for….. this can goes on and on  and on (and I think ALL has no limitation, or has it? the limit is…. ALL there is)

and only Him can fulfill ALL your needs! yes He may do that with people, yes He may reach you through your loved ones, yes He might have approached you with His blessings, but the bottomline is HE works THROUGH ALL of it.

I once read a wonderful statement, and I might have missed it unless I took some time to ponder its meaning.

It sounds like this:

“Give God your ALL, and let HIM be your ALL in ALL”

let the very dear one who reads this post, also ponder its meaning in your own life!

How do you set your priority? (part 1)

Priority is an easy thing to say, simple enough, yet to apply the principle to our life can be a great deal, but it also can save us a lot of time, energy etc. In short, it’s all worth it!

I once have been told that we should set our priority, or else the world will define it for us, which is what we avoid to be, right?

first thing first, I know it’s sound so cliche but, GOD should be our first and foremost priority.

Collosians 1:18 told us

“that in all things He may have the preeminence.”

Matthew 6:33

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Ecclesiates 3:11

He hath made everything beautiful in its time: also he hath set eternity in their heart,

What do we search in life? enjoyment? happiness? pleasure? you name it! all of those can only be found WHOLLY and FULLY in Christ, in God Himself.

Really? Let’s put it this way

When you saw some utensils in the antique shop, and it looked kinda strange and you don’t know what to do with the thing? or what should you do using that thing? Let me ask you something: “who is the first and most important person you would ask?” for me, i would say: “of course its the maker, the creator, he is the most knowledgeable person of the creation” wouldn’t you think so?

and then, how can we,human, a mere creation, look for the meaning of our life, of our existence to somewhere else, beside our Creator?

Eph 1:11-12 said that

11-12 It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.

Do you long for having a truly fulfilled life, purposeful life? Do you really thirst for having a secure identity that is not based on what the world say about you?

Then ask your Creator, go run to Him, and not from Him

James 4:8

“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.”

He longs for you passionately and lovingly

Isaiah 44:22 told us that:

“I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.”

Why should you run from Him any longer? haven’t you been tired of running away? tired of trying to satisfy people who can’t be satisfied? how long have you search and put your identity based on others opinion?

“Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.” Isa 43:4

You are precious and loved, if Not, why would Jesus chose to die for you on the cross?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

If you feel that right now God is calling you outside your door, don’t be so dull to hear Him, open the door of your heart and answer His call

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” Rev 3:20

if you’re willing to come back, you may use this prayer to help you start your relationship with God:

Dear Jesus, I am willing to come back to You, I believe that only in You I can put my trust, in You I found my identity, your precious child. I believe that You have died for my sin, and right now I open the door of my heart to accept You, please come in and be my Lord and Savior. In Your Name Jesus, by whom I am saved, healed and restored. I pray. Amen

If you’re praying this prayer with all your heart, I am glad to tell you: welcome to the family of Christ, you are worthy because Jesus told you so!

Get Ready! Explosion is COMING!

Get ready! Explosion is coming!

This time were going to learn from Daniel. Daniel is an example of someone who out of His wholeheartedness in following his God, God of Israel, Living God, he experienced kingdom ExplosionS in his life. ExplosionS means more than one breakthrough. I believe all of us want to get those breakthroughs in our life, no matter what they’re about. Maybe it’s a family matter, or financial matter, or study matter, or else. But the good news is, GOD is ,MORE THAN EVER, ready to give us explosions to explosions, breakthrough to breakthrough. Yet why is that we still encountered a dull life? Stagnant life?

So we need to learn from Daniel, what are the qualities, or the characteristics of someone who is ready to receive kingdom explosion in his/her life? They are:

  1. Know who they are (identity) and brave enough to put God first in every situation they face

Daniel 1:6-8 Daniel is an example of a man who know his identity. He refused (along with Sadrach, Mesach, and Abednego) to eat wine and meat, which are prohibited for Jews. they came from Judah land to Babel as exiles, and then the King Nebucadnezzar assembled young Jewish men who are fit, handsome, and in a good shape to serve him.

Why is Daniel mentioned to be brave? Because he faced a risk of being jailed by refusing what King had ordered, not to mention being more languid than others who agreed to ate what King had told them to eat. But Daniel instead of whimpering, he challenged the head servant to test the four of them, and they came out as :

Say No to the King’s food

At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.

2. The one who care enough about what happen around them and the one that be aware of opportunities

It came out at that time, the king had a dream that troubled him a lot. Yet while he wanted them to be interpreted, he refused to told the interpreter (magicians, astrologers, etc) about what he had dreamed about. And the result was definite, no one could do that. (strange king, isn’t he?) the king got angry and decreed that all “capable” people to be killed (its no use to have them if they cant even do what the king wants), with Daniel and the three musketeers included (Sadrach, Mesach, Abednego). Yet Daniel didn’t give up,

14 When Arioch, the commander of the king’s guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact. 15 He asked the king’s officer, “Why did the king issue such a harsh decree?” Arioch then explained the matter to Daniel. 16 At this, Daniel went in to the king and asked for time, so that he might interpret the dream for him.

Nebucadnezzar’s Dream

He saw opportunities, not calamities

3. The one who knows he has an EVERKNOWING GOD (omniscient)

There is nothing hidden from God if we just ask Him. (have we done so?)

Daniel didn’t come to other capable persons and discussed it with them (oh yes, he went to three musketeers and asked them to pray, but he didn’t ask them the answer), instead he came directly to God

17 Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 18 He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven 20 and said:

“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.

I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king.”

Have we ever ask God of what we should be doing? Or we thought that we’re smart enough, our plan is brilliant enough?

4.The one who is consistent about what he believes in, even times get rough

The time came when the “strange” king decreed (again) that every single person in his kingdom must bow down to the statue that he made.

Then the herald loudly proclaimed, “Nations and peoples of every language, this is what you are commanded to do: As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.

But our three musketeers refused to do so, and they are being threatened to plunged down to a furnace of fire

“Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up?

But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?

Yet our three musketeers are truly heroes, weren’t they? For they said:16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us[c] from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

in the end, God saved them, none of them get burned in that furnace, and that what made king bewildered…

No trace of burnt- AT ALL

Can we say that also? Or we say to God

If You bless me

If You give me what I want

If You give me the job that I need

If You

If You…. Then I will praise You, then I will put my life as an offering.

If NOT? well, goodbye, Sayonara…

Do you really want people to know how great is your God? How can you witness it to them when in the face of trials and troubles you just whimper and getting worried all over? Can you be still and know that He is God, no matter things looked like now

5. The one who has the “spirit of excellence”

This is a different spirit, the one that makes people say “wow”

Daniel is one of them, for it has been said

11 There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners. 12 He did this because Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems.

When Daniel came to meet Nebucadnezzar’s son, Belsyazar mocked him, saying: “Are you Daniel, one of the exiles my father the king brought from Judah? 14 I have heard that the spirit of the gods is in you and that you have insight, intelligence and outstanding wisdom. 15 The wise men and enchanters were brought before me to read this writing and tell me what it means, but they could not explain it. 16 Now I have heard that you are able to give interpretations and to solve difficult problems. If you can read this writing and tell me what it means, you will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around your neck, and you will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.”

A spirit of excellence doesn’t focus on what others say about him, but his principle is:

If this is what God wants me to do, then I don’t care about people mocking me, neither about people praising me. I know that I am here to do what He tell me to do, other than that is not my concern.

“You may keep your gifts for yourself and give your rewards to someone else. Nevertheless, I will read the writing for the king and tell him what it means.

Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin

Practically Daniel said: I just came here because God told me to tell the meaning of those writings, you can keep your gifts (and I also don’t care about your mockery)

6. The one who always seeks God first and foremost whenever he face problems (He who depends on God not on connection with human eg: boss, president, king, etc)

It makes no difference whether Daniel is still an exile or when he had been a third ruler of the country. Daniel, being a trustworthy person to the king, living in the palace, may have a very good relationship with the king? Wouldn’t you agree?

[a]It pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom, with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel.

Whenever we receive a promotion, there will always be people who are envious, jealous, and playing dirty tricks to bring us down. But from Daniel we saw, we shouldn’t be worried about these kinds of people when we know we are in the right standing with God.

At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent. Finally these men said, “We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God.”

Read Daniel 6

13 Then they said to the king, “Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, Your Majesty, or to the decree you put in writing. He still prays three times a day.”14 When the king heard this, he was greatly distressed; he was determined to rescue Daniel and made every effort until sundown to save him.

16 So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!”

Usually when we feel that we have a good connection with a nobleman, officers, etc etc, we try to manipulate them, or at least we try to ask their favor to make things works for us, right?

As for Daniel, he gained favor from the king darius, and from above we can see that king darius was really eager to save Daniel, but he’d been cornered by the decree he made. Why didn’t Daniel run first to the king and ask for his favor?  Instead of run to God and “do what he always does” praying 3 times a day

Daniel was praying while other noblemen were peeking him

10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Daniel set us an example of someone who are confident being in a right standing with God, he know that he only does what God wants, and no matter the situation has become, God is still in control

As According to Romans 8:28

Something is HAPPENING FOR YOU (its for your good), not HAPPENING TO YOU (like something bad is befall on you)
